– a part of hockey history
David Gunnarsson, the artist behind DaveArt, has been painting as long as he can remember. Back then it was just a dream and his only real choice for a career.
Growing up in the countrysideβ¦his grandfather told him he would become a farmer and take over the family business. But DavidΒ΄s greatest passion was art, he painted all the time and when he didnβt paint he would brainstorm new paintings with his fantasy and creativity.

Joseph felt that βYou Shall Not Passβ was the perfect theme for a goalie mask β because that is exactly the mission every night: nothing gets through.
The design is a tribute to the legendary world of The Lord of the Rings, with the epic battle between Gandalf and the Balrog exploding across the mask in fire and darkness.
And the storytelling goes even deeper. The brick wall is an important theme for Joseph β the ultimate symbol of shutting the door β while the mountains are another personal and important element for him. Both are woven into the LOTR universe and the overall design.
